Training

Because of the depth of  training the Junior League offers, our members are among the most effective and caring volunteers in the community.  Our community benefits greatly from JLO training. Members, both present and past, sit on numerous board in our city and bring to those boards the knowledge and training they gained from membership in the Junior League.

The JLO provides training for its members in the following ways:

General Membership Meetings provide training in a large group setting by inviting speakers who cover such topics as communications skills and diversity.

In-League Committees, those committees that help run the JLO administratively, are a source of training by their nature.  For example, volunteers can learn about finance at any level by participating in one of the areas under the Financial Vice-President or about the media by working in the Communication Relations area.

The Provisional Course teaches the newest members how the league operates by providing training from the Provisional Committee.

AJLI offers  multiple training and networking opportunites for League members at all levels.  Fall Leadership Conference, Winter Leadership Conference, Annual Conference,  Organizational Development Institue (ODI), Webinars, and Regional Meetings. These trainings are some of the best found anywhere and frequently bring in speakers and trainers that work with Fortune 500 companies. Topics range from fianancial training, public speaking, palimentary procedurce, to reaching the needs of all members. Networking opportunities at AJLI events offer members a chance to meet other women across the world with common interests and goals.

Outside the non-profit sector, League members are Federal Court judges, political appointees, successful businesswomen, and well-respected community leaders.  The training you gain and the connections you make will serve you well, no matter the path you take in the Junior League.
