The idea of an Endowment Fund surfaced several years ago. The membership wanted a long-range financial plan that would sustain community service projects for generations to come. After much research in how the fund should be set up, the active membership voted in favor of a fund administered by the Permian Basin Area Foundation, a non-profit organization serving the region. Together, the JLO and the PBAF share a visionary approach that will sustain the many projects that reach out and help our Odessa citizens.

MERRY MARKETPLACE is a three-day merchants' market featuring fine gifts, accessories, and decorative items for the holidays and throughout the year.  This event serves as the major fund-raising effort for the community projects of the Junior League of Odessa, Inc. The twenty-sixth annual MERRY MARKETPLACE opens with a Preview Party on Thursday, November 6, 2008.  Market days will be November 7,8 and 9, 2008.

Merchant Deadlines
Applications Due - May 1, 2008
Agreements / contracts mailed - June 15, 2008
Established Merchant Contract Deadline - July 15, 2008
Final payments / insurance proof due - September 30, 2008
After July 15 additional merchants will be allowed into show for any
contracts not returned. Merchants whose final payments are not received by September 30th will potentially lose space to Merchants who are interested and willing to pay in full immediately. Deposits are non-refundable.

The function of the Finance Team is to coordinate the financial affairs of the JLO. The Finance Vice President serves as the Chair. The Finance Committee includes all committee Treasurers, President, President-Elect, Treasurer, Endowment Chair, Headquarters Chair and Sustaining Advisor.
