Literacy Project
Because of an above average illiteracy rate in Ector County, the Junior League of Odessa, Inc., has taken on Literacy as a research project for 2010-2011. With a focus on building a coalition to review literacy, the Literacy committee plans to identify what programs are currently available in our community to help children and adults learn to read. The committee will tackle the social and educational issues surrounding literacy in Ector County. In working with other agencies and educators, the goal is to create a system to foster literacy from pre-school through adulthood.
